This note is to follow up on my acupuncture treatment of April 12, 2009. As background, I have a severe neurological condition diagnosed as hyperplasticity of the central nervous system. Basically this means that my brain over-reacts to nerve stimulation as if I had been Tasered. This condition developed about 6 years ago after a severe infection of the spine which degraded the structure of the spine and the function of the spine. Although 2 neurosurgeries improved my condition, the Taser response has persisted. This condition is the opposite of diseases in which neurons die.
I have an excellent neurologist and truly believe that he provides the best care possible. Still, my goal is to not have this terrible disease although I have become resigned. Most doctors, until they, accidently provoke a seizure, cannot comprehend the disorder.
Over the last 6 years, I have worked through many forms of traditional western medicine and assorted forms of alternative care. I have learned to avoid “blame the victim” treatments that make high claims yet deliver nothing but blame.
This is a long prelude but I really want to convey to you how much I appreciated your statement during our first session that sometimes acupuncture just does not work. I had previously worked with a doctor who had many excellent skill but the acupuncture as he practiced it was terrible painful and yielded zero progress. I still see this Doctor for other treatments and have good respect for him — if not for his practice of acupuncture.
For my first visit I was very apprehensive of the cold and pain that I would suffer during the treatment. I was so happy to discover that due to your excellent technique and use of heat lamps and short duration, there was no pain and I did not become cold. I felt the effects of your multiple method approach on the first session.
I am glad now that I overcame my past and fear to undergo treatment with you since on April 12, 2009, you located the blockage of my feet which I felt during treatment as a shoe or spa clay treatment of my feet. Your empirical approach of triggering a minor seizure prior to the treatment and the repeating the test after the treatment to prove that the protocol you applied worked was unique in my experience with medical or alternative practitioners excluding my neurologist is also proceeds in a similar empirical manner.
Although the mitigation of the seizures only lasted 6 hours, it did occur and as evidence, I went to the grocery store during that time. For the first time, I feel hope that the correct blockage has been identified.
