Dear Master Liao,
Chronic struggles with livelihood had lowered my energy to the point where I was experiencing substantial neck pain and no longer had the patience to meet even ordinary requests from others without expressing irritation. I wondered how best to recharge my energetic system in light of my limited resources. This is when I discovered your Eastern Healing Center website.
My two acupuncture treatments were worthwhile. Even while reclining upon the treatment table during the first session, I was aware of a gentle, systematic release of excess tension traveling along my spine, vertebra by vertebra, like a sigh. Sensations of warmth and even a cheerful gurgling in my stomach were present also. I was grateful to have experienced the change from a clenched body posture at the beginning of the session to a relaxed one at its conclusion.
In the days following treatment, I awakened with considerably more comfort in my neck region than I’ve been accustomed to for years. In addition to my regular walking exercise, I’ve also resumed the meditation practice abandoned years earlier when I had decided it was not effective enough to warrant the time and effort. Now I accept slight benefit as a benefit after all.
I bear in mind the two suggested thoughts concerning smiling to myself and disregarding interpreted ill will in the behavior of others. Through these practices, I reclaimed a sense of perspective regarding present circumstances, enhanced body alignment (I sit higher in my chair and feel drawn up to my full height while standing.) and the return of my good humor. Note: When a gentleman in line to pay for gasoline motioned me ahead of him saying, “You go first. I’m still looking for my money.” I accepted the advanced place in line replying, “Thanks, I’m looking for my money, too. Let me know if you have any luck finding either of ours!” We both laughed, and it felt good.
It is sometimes difficult to give one’s self permission to try a new approach to self care, but Life typically meets the very act of reaching out with good news of some stripe. Having competed those sessions within my current means, I am eager to notice additional signs of inner strengthening through the practice of the 12 movements demonstrated on your Tai Chi Dao Yin DVD. I’m sure that my income will improve as I become better able to embrace opportunities. With he long-submerged lunula at the base of my thumbs’ nail beds rising into plain view, I see that matters are indeed looking up.
Thank you for helping me,
JJ
