Terrible Tension Headaches

Basic information:

   Female
   Age: 32

   Condition: Tension headaches and pain in the eyes, neck and shoulders

Pre-visit Symptoms:

Headache with pain concentrated in the center of my forehead but also at the temples. This pain today was at a level of about 2-3 out of 10 (10 being worst pain). I also had stiffness and pain in my neck and shoulders. The two weeks prior I had been suffering from severe tension headaches coupled with eye pain which ranged anywhere from a 5-7 pain level. I have been having trouble getting good rest; some nights only sleeping a few hours. Needless to say, my energy has been low as a result. I have constipation as well and was feeling very uncomfortable. I felt very frustrated that I was only given the recommendation to take and stay on heavy pain medication or even anti-depressants as a solution for these problems by physicians and specialists. I did not want to start down a road of reliance on medication - this is what prompted me to visit Eastern Healing Center.

During Treatment:

I was encouraged to relax during the energy healing treatment and was able to do so despite the pain I felt from my headaches - quiet and calm energy surrounded me. I had Acupuncture treatment following energy healing to treat my headache. The pins were put in my arms and legs but surprisingly not in my head where the pain was! Within only a few minutes I felt the effects of this treatment while I lay there. I felt warmth in my arms and only some slight pain that subsided while my breathing quickened. My face began to tingle with the feeling like when your leg "falls asleep" while my breathing went faster still. Just as I began to feel nervous about these reactions, my whole body became calm and my breathing relaxed as if I were sleeping. I was in a full state of relaxation that I had never experienced before and my head felt light where before it had been heavy with pain.

Post-visit Symptoms:

Almost immediately after Dr. Owen performed energy healing, I felt relaxation in my neck and shoulders and the pain in my center of my forehead had reduced. After the energy touch and acupuncture treatments that took place during the remainder of my morning visit, I felt better than I had in weeks. My eye pain was reduced and my energy level increased. Hours later, I was able to go out and do errands outside that I had avoided for some time because I had simply felt too exhausted to complete them.

In the week that followed, I have rarely had a headache return and if it does, is only at a low pain level. My energy level went back to what was normal for me before I started feeling sluggish and getting headaches. I am still working with Dr. Owen as I struggle with getting enough rest at night. Mild headaches are more manageable now and less frequent. Most importantly, I now have hope that I am on my way to feeling good consistently without medication.
